My name is Matthew Shallenberger. I’m currently a student at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary, which is at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan. I’m working on my Master of Divinity degree; I graduate in this December. I have been married to my fantastic wife, Emmalee, for about three and a half years. If you’re wondering about the blog address, yes, it comes from the combination of our names (and I think you’d agree that Mattalee sounds a lot better than Emmatthew). Maybe it’s kind of dorky, but I like it. For me, it’s just another reminder that the two of us have become one.
This blog is focused on love and relationships (though I may occasionally write about other topics as well). Essentially I’ll be sharing my journey and writing on what I’ve learned, observed, and heard about relationships. The floor is open for discussion. I want this to be a place where people can dialogue freely and share their unique perspectives. Everyone is welcome here. I’m a Christian, but if you ascribe to another religion or to none at all, you are still warmly invited to join the conversation. If you disagree with me or someone else, that’s quite alright. Just do so respectfully; that’s all I ask.
